Marie Curie fundraiser

As part of the Morris Minor Owners Club 40th Anniversary celebrations in 2016, the club has designated Marie Curie as its charity. In September a Morris Minor saloon will drive from John O’Groats to Lands End visiting every club branch in the UK (which includes a ferry to Northern Ireland). We’ve designed the official logo for the event. Good luck!

Cut and Paste

Luck’s director, Mark Watkins has been developing his own personal work over the last few years. As an antidote to sitting in front of a monitor he likes nothing more than getting out scissors and glue to work in his favourite medium - collage. This body of personal work can now be seen at www.luckdoesart.com

Sea Change Oslo

From 12 - 16 January 2015 Luck relocated to Oslo. We are responsible for the design and art direction of Sea Change, a photo documentary project which has initially included a 256 page book, an exhibition and a student workshop. The current venue for the exhibition is The House of Lterature in Oslo.

The project was instigated three years ago by photographer Jocelyn Bain Hogg and investigative journalist Harald Birkevold. 13 photographers were commissioned to document young people’s lives across 13 European countries in the wake of the financial crash that happened in 2007.

The exhibition opened on January 12 and the book was launched. Our role during the week was to participate in the workshop. 35 students from a local high school worked with 8 of the Sea Change photographers. They spent two days taking photos, documenting aspects of their own lives. We designed a 52 page book of their work, which was printed the following morning and presented to the students and staff. It was a great success and the work these students produced was excellent.

More information about Sea Change can be found at www.projectseachange.com and you can follow the project on facebook, instagram and twitter. The exhibition will your various cities throughout Europe over the next two years, moving to the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin on 26 February.

A new client: Samways

We’re pleased to announce we’re working with Samways Cycles, a family business that’s been based in Derby since the 1930s. We’re designing a new identity which will roll out over time to include new signage, a new ladies department for which the building work is now underway. It’s an exciting project to be involved in given the rising profile of cycling in Derby with the opening of the velodrome coming soon.

Will post images of the design work once the launch of their new women’s department is complete.
